My Latest Creation

This is a birthday cake that I just completed! It is my favourite cake to date! It was a lot of fun to do. I was really able to use my imagination on this cake. The background on this cake was sprayed with color and the characters were done in a star tip. My favourite part was all the leaves on the trees. It took awhile to make all those colors, but it was worth it!

This was a birthday cake that I also did for one of my classes. I'm not a big fan of clowns but I thought it turned out pretty cute! This was done in buttercream icing.

Basketweave Garden Cake

This cake was a cake that I did for one of my classes. It is full of royal icing flowers that we learned over a period of three weeks. Some of these include roses, daffodils, pansies, mums and daisies. It also has a color flow fence and butterfly. This cake was also where we first learned the basketweave. This was a very sweet cake but very fun to make!

Character Pans

Today they have a wide assortment of character pans that you can rent and decorate. These are two of the pans that I did for birthdays. The cupcakes were an addition to the Lightning Mcqueen Cake. These work great for children's parties!

Baptism Cake

This cake is one of my favourites. Probably because it tasted really good. This is the biggest cake that I have made to date. It was actually a little scary. I think it weighed over thirty pounds! I know it weighed more than my toddler. It was for my nephews baptism. It was a white slab cake with strawberry whipped cream filling and a cream cheese icing. The icing was made with over over twelve cups of icing sugar! The white lilies and small flowers were made out of royal icing. It also had a basket weave along the sides. I think this cake served around 100 people and not a crumb was left!

Pricing

Some people have inquired on pricing for cakes. This is really a difficult question to answer, seeing as all cakes are different. All cakes have different ingredients and come in different sizes, so prices would vary. Just contact me if you had any questions and would like a quote. This is probably a good reason for me to start up a website soon!

Gum Paste Flowers

I am currently taking some courses on gum paste flowers. Gum paste is somewhat similar to fondant. It is rolled very thinly, then shaped into very realistic flowers. Although they are edible, most people do not eat them . They have the potential to make very beautiful cakes, especially wedding cakes. They take a while to make but are worth it in the end! Above are two of the flowers that I've learned. They are a calla lily and a carnation.

Fondant Present Cake

This cake is a cake covered in fondant. I made this cake also for one of my classes. There really is no limit what you can do with fondant! I really like the look it gives, but it doesn't taste that great. I'm hoping to find a fondant soon that tastes better.

My First Wedding Cake

This was the first wedding cake that I made! Unfortunately this was for one of my classes and not for a wedding. I also would have preferred to do it in fondant, but that would have been more expensive for a class cake. It would have been more elegant and smooth in fondant. This cake was a butter pecan cake with white buttercream and white royal icing lilies. These are entirely edible except the stamen. This is one of my favourite cakes so far.

Did you Know?

Did you know that I can put a picture of your loved one on a cake? And yes, you can eat it too! Works great for birthday's or anniversary's!

My first cake

This was the first cake that I made in my first cake decorating class. I began classes with Wilton in June 2006. We ate this for Fathers Day. It was really sweet but good! This was a butter pecan cake with standard buttercream icing.
