Baby Blocks

So, personally I think this cake is pretty cool. I was excited to do it, seeing as I had not done something like this before. But...it was a LOT harder than I thought it was going to be! I thought working on a smaller scale would be easier, but it really wasn't. I'm still pleased with how it turned out and hopefully the recipient was too! This cake was made up of 3 inch cake squares. Each square was either vanilla cake, chocolate cake or a combination of vanilla and chocolate. They were filled and iced with butter cream icing and covered in fondant. They were then decorated with royal icing decorations. Congratulations to C and K and little baby L!!

Baby Shower Cake

This is a baby shower cake that I just completed! It was a chocolate and white layered cake, covered in homemade marshmallow fondant. Yes, I found a recipe for fondant that actually tastes really good! It is very sweet though. The babies are also made out of fondant.

Baptism Cake

This cake is one of my favourites. Probably because it tasted really good. This is the biggest cake that I have made to date. It was actually a little scary. I think it weighed over thirty pounds! I know it weighed more than my toddler. It was for my nephews baptism. It was a white slab cake with strawberry whipped cream filling and a cream cheese icing. The icing was made with over over twelve cups of icing sugar! The white lilies and small flowers were made out of royal icing. It also had a basket weave along the sides. I think this cake served around 100 people and not a crumb was left!
